GRUPO ZARAGOZÁ STARTED UP THE CAMPANARIO I SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC INSTALLATION THREE YEARS AGO.

Planta Fotovoltaica Campanario I en Bonete, Cuenca. En óptimo funcionamiento desde 2020.

This project is exceptional in that, despite the State of Emergency caused by the Covid-19 global crisis, it met all of its construction deadlines and was energised in May 2020.

Since then, this plant located in Bonete (Cuenca) has been operating at full capacity, being monitored and coordinating optimal maintenance from GRUPO ZARAGOZÁ’s O&M department. The client is so satisfied it has renewed the initial maintenance contract for a further 14 years.

The 70-hectare site has 104,608 380-Wp photovoltaic modules distributed in 10 power stations. With an installed capacity of 39.75 MWp, this photovoltaic plant generates annual production of around 85,000 MWh/year of clean electrical energy, which avoids emitting 24,394 Tn/year of CO2 into the atmosphere.

The start-up of the Campanario I PV plant marked the start of GRUPO ZARAGOZÁ’s expansion plan in Spain to achieve the 700 MW it has under development.

At present, following our guiding principles of sustainability and respect for the environment, along with facility maintenance, we undertake initiatives such as clearing vegetation using indigenous livestock, as well as cleaning the solar panels using our own equipment, which minimises the amount of water needed for these tasks.
